There were no senior games this week, with the Geelong region taking a break before the regular season begins.

U14 Girls

U14 Girls VS Port Fairy SC, Away, 4-9 LOSS

Our U14 Girls made the trip to Port Fairy to try and reverse a close loss from a few weeks previous. The game started well for the Rovers with a tight first half and lots of goals from both teams.

Port Fairy came to Half time with a slender 5-4 lead and took control of the match in the second half to run out winners 9-4 on the day.

Mackenzie Rocka was prominent in attack with three goals, Adela Thomas also scored again, while Daisy Dorris was strong all day through the middle of the ground.

U13 A

U13A VS Surf Coast, Away, Draw 2-2

A tougher test for our A grade boys with a trip to Surf Coast to take on a team at the top end of the table. Our boys played a solid game and the first half remained even until a Surf Coast free kick found its way into the back of the net. Playing from behind the Rovers needed to respond and good play from Dash Bannan in midfield and Finley Geary in attack kept our opponent on their toes and chasing the game.

Behind at Half Time and the boys rose to the occasion in the second half, strong defending from Joseph Coventry and Zaiden Finn held back attacking waves, while Solomon Coventry kept running out on the left all day long. A speculative shot from Mark Orlovskyi levelled the scores momentarily before Surf Coast broke forward and took back the lead in the final few minutes.

One final chance came in the last minute of the game. Jasper Milner smashed a free kick over the wall and in to the top right corner of the net, securing an entertaining 2-2 draw.

U13 B

U13B VS Golden Plains, Home, WIN 4-3

The boys are starting to really work as a team now and are all enjoying the coaching from Coach Sam. With that comfort the results are starting to show in the way of wins!

Adapting to the physical side of the game over the past few weeks has been a challenge for the Rovers but we have managed to keep their cool, remained pretty calm, shown great composure and come away some great wins.

U11 Wallabies

U11 Wallabies VS Geelong SC Black, Home, LOSS 2-9

Another learning experience for the Wallabies, with a few key players missing and a tough Geelong team for the second week in a row.

Our boys tried their hearts out all day with Eli Jones a standout in goals.

First season players Gabriel and Jack finished the match with goals.

U11 Joeys Black

VS Lara United Blue, Home, WIN 8-2

The team played an amazing game. Fantastic team work was displayed, with all players passing the ball around and creating a plethora of opportunities. Congratulations to Chace for being best on ground with an excellent performance, notable mentions to Henry Walker, Thomas McGlynn and Roy Carey. An excellent all round performance

U11 Joeys Green

U11 Joeys Green VS Lara United Silver, Home, WIN 6-1

A very strong month of performance from some of our newest Rovers in the Joeys Green team. Its amazing to see 13 individual goal scorers across the first four games of the season. This group is very even in their skills and are happy to share the ball around to make sure the best shots at goal get taken.

Against Lara Utd on Sunday Morning the group played some very entertaining football, turning defence into attack with some great play from Clancy Bannan. Up front Joseph Gardiner and Reed Sherman were a constant threat. Jax Robertson kept space out wide brilliantly to allow the ball to fizz around the park. Another great win from a team growing in confidence, Well Done!
