Concussion Awareness & Resources

At the Colac Otway Rovers, the health and wellbeing of our players, coaches, volunteers and families is a priority.

Concussion is a serious injury that can occur at any level of sport. Recognising the signs early and responding appropriately helps protect players and supports a safe recovery and return to play. Football Australia’s community concussion guidelines are based on the latest Australian sports medicine advice and provide practical information for players, parents, coaches and supporters.

The resources below include:

  • recognising the common signs and symptoms of concussion
  • what to do immediately following a suspected concussion
  • return-to-play guidance and recovery information for adults
  • tailored advice for children and adolescents returning to sport safely

If in doubt, sit them out.

We encourage all members of our club community to take a few moments to review these important resources.
